We are in Haiti !!!

WOW - I really don't know where to start.
It has been a fabulous, joyous, full of emotions kind of day.
We arrived in Port au Prince this morning at 11. After collecting all the luggage and finally getting through customs we were welcomed by a throng of people eager to help us with our luggage...for a fee:)
Luckily, "Big" was with us and he deterred most of them from trying to help us. We loaded all the luggage in a truck and then drove about 45 minutes through PAP in a mini van with no less than 18 people in it. Oh - should I mention the temperature? Maybe 100 or so.
We arrived safely at the motel...PAP is what I expected. Streets lined with people and obviously very poor. People are friendly and smile a lot - which is remarkable to me.
We settled in the motel and then the children arrived.
Silas came first....he was subdued on arrival and probably a little scared. He came to me right away and played with the necklace Lisa gave me with all the kids names on it. He went to Noel easily as well. He has warmed up a little. We went to the room after both boys arrived and Silas liked playing on a blanket and loved the truck Lily picked for me to bring to him. (please tell her Lisa:) He was happy to get cheerios and after we built a little trust he got a bath and lots of scabies cream - although neither boy has them very bad. Too much information? When Titus arrived - Noel and I recognized him right away. He is tiny - maybe 9 or 10 lbs, but a little ball of fire. He is so funny - he is already smiling a lot and rolling over - lays on his tummy with his head pulled up and goes for toys. He is imitating me with hand motions and making noises with his mouth. Noel has already nicknamed him peanut - he is one! Both boys had baths and we all took naps - ate dinner and now they are in bed sleeping - I think...Noel is in the room. We are concerned about Silas' legs - and his lack of using them. Right now it is hard to tell if he can't or won't. He is too cute - and I am pretty sure he knows it...I think he is testing us a little before he completely opens up. I bet he smiles and does more tomorrow. They both were very tired and a little dehydrated which we are correcting. We will see the Dr. here tomorrow to get her opinion.
Of course my phone is not working as it should. I am going to rent a cell phone here tomorrow so I can call - that is less $ anyway.
ALL in all it has been a great day! We have some concerns, but really believe God is giving us everything we need. OH - Titus first smiled when I made the noise like Mom used to when she kissed us up and down the cheek before we went to bed - you know L, J, and J? I know you remember.....it is funny how close I feel to her in Haiti of all places. Watching my children from afar - that is what she said she would do. We thank Jesus for allowing us this most awesome privilege of loving these boys and making them ours. Wish I could share in person all of what I feel, but will go for now.
LOVE LOVE LOVE you ALL

Because of Him,
lori for Noel, Silas, and Titus ~ XOXOXOXOXO to our sweet lily:)

oh sissy! Lisa and I just read it together over the phone. We have been on the edge of our seats all day. i finally decided to check the blog, and when i saw the post i called lisa right away. this is such great news and just so sweet. I loved hearing about Silas and the cheerios, Titus being a ball of fire, and the kisses that you gave just like mom's. You must feel the same closeness to her as I felt when having my two in my arms for the first time. I can't wait to hear more. Call or blog as you have time and give the boys lots of hugs and kisses from us. Love you lots!

Sam & I just read this, and I am crying happy tears. The boys sound wonderfully beautiful in spirit; they sound like they are a perfect fit for your family. I am going to email your sisters b/c I must chat about this excitement!
A verse for you we will pray is Ephesians 3:19, "that you will be filled with the fullness of God". We love you so much, JuJu, Les, Sam, Rachel, Matt & Alex
