UPDATES on our sons!

Good Morning Friends!
Today is a wonderful day! I bet there is some celebrating in Heaven today - my sweet Mom's birthday. She would have been 60 today. She went home to Jesus at the young age of 53 - some days I miss her so much I can hardly breath. Lately, while I have been working on The Titus Task - I can hear her in my spirit gently cheering me on. It brings me comfort to think of her and Titus in the same place. Happy Birthday Momma!
My twin sister Lisa and her family are coming here today - the annual Daddy ~ Daughter Dance in our little town is tonight. So the girls have a double date with their Daddies. Lisa and I will have a night in with her little man Griffin. I am smiling - thinking about my 2 guys being home next year. Well at least Silas will be - hopefully Louis too.
We got these updates last night! Lots of pictures and here is what Lindsay (the update and referral specialist for the Orphanage) had to write about our 2 sons.

Silas, Silas, Silas… how sweet and silly can you be!
My first moments at Fontamara with Silas were hilarious! I had brought a huge unopened bag of Tootie Fruitie cereal to use as treats for later that day. I had set them down on a chair and began setting up, when I hear hollering from inside the O… there was Silas standing in the chair I had set the cereal in. He had climbed up into the chair…figured out how to open the cereal bag….was happily partaking of his newly found treat …when about five other kids had discovered him and were holding there hands out as he distributed the precious cereal…. One for me, one for you….
I also have pictures of him with his crib mate Olrich, and sometimes partner in crime Todlene. They are the rulers of the toddlers in that downstairs left side room! Funny, sweet angel boy!

Louis was his regular handsome, quiet, huggable self.
He had this new light in his eyes. He was more interactive than he has ever been during updates and was trying to ask me questions in Creole about his family. I did explain that “Jeff” at Fontamara is his brother. He really liked that and shook his head “yes” and smiled at me. He really LOVED his CD player and I did not see him without having the head phones in his ears the rest of my time at Petionville.
When it was time for me to go ….your sweet Louis stopped me and hugged me… with my limited understanding of Creole, he asked me to tell you, his Mama and Papa, “He loves you, and that he will be a good son”. I hugged him back and told him I would and that his Mama and papa love him very much!

SO SWEET....any news about the boys is like a medicine to my soul. I am so excited about showing them how much I love them. Noel said last night that he can't believe how he feels like he already knows Louis. And of course he misses Silas so much - as do I.
I love the pictures of Louis opening his ziplock bag of goodies I sent for him. I can't help but think of all the times the staff has come to do updates and brought gifts from the parents of those being adopted. I know he must have been wondering - when is it my turn? Well - its because we didn't know about you yet Louis. We believe it was always part of God's plan for you to be our son.
AGAIN....I can't believe I get to live this life! Thanks God!

If you are thinking about those other children that didn't get one of those bags of goodies - and is waiting for a family - and you think there is even a remote possiblity that your family could have room for one more - please pray and email me if you want to know more about Haiti or international adoption. God is in the business of building families in all different ways!

Enjoy the pictures!
Love you all!

Lori,
It does my heart good to visit you blog! I love the song "Who am I?" In fact I've sang it at church on several occasions and at a women's retreat. I often ask the question "who am I" that God has allowed George and I the opportunity to adopt Stevenson and Widelande! It is truly a blessing from Him!

Love, Sally

Oh, when I was reading the update on Louis and where he wanted you to know that he'll be a good son, I just about cried! My heart sings for Silas and Louis, who know have a home, and breaks for the ones still waiting...

Lily really made my day on Valentine's Day. I'd had a rough week and Thursday morning wasn't any better. When she got to school, she gave me a great big hug and said, "I love you, Ms. Laura!" What a sweetheart!
