We got a wonderful email from the Dr we have seeing the boys in Haiti. She is such a blessing! She said that I better have my running shoes ready because Silas is walking without assistance now! YEAH - I will run after him anywhere! He wasn't walking by himself when I saw him in October - when he had just turned 2 - so I was hoping he was getting some more stimulation and able to walk by now. I am so proud of him. It was almost like watching your child take his first steps when I opened that picture. I miss him so much.
We got more news about our paperwork this week as well.
Silas' file is almost ready for the Minister of the Interior which is where the file is approved for a passport. The update said that his file should go to that office next week. We are very hopeful that process will be done within a couple months. After that - we will still need approval on the US side for immigration and a VISA to travel. The US process is taking much longer than usual right now due to several factors - one is that the USCIS office in Haiti is moving. We are praying all that is resolved by the time our file gets to that point.
Louis' file is ready to enter the IBESR. We are hopeful that his adoption will progress quicker than Silas', but guess we should prepare for another long wait. We pray it is shorter for him.
We applied for Lily's passport last week. IN Lori's timeline - which is not God's :) - I would love to travel to get Silas in the summer...take lily with us and have our whole family together for several days in Haiti. It will be heartbreaking to leave Louis....but then if we could get him home soon after that???? OK God - do Your thing! I long to see our 3 children together.
Dr L also said this week that Silas says a few words and understands everything! Too cute - I can't wait to hold him again.
Hope you all are having a great weekend. It is beautiful, sunny and high of 70 here today!
I am also posting a slideshow of lily with abby and campbell last weekend. Lisa and I tried to get a good picture of the silly 3 of them. I think you will be entertained by the outcome!
Joyfully,
lori
