I don't know what happened to April???
I do know that I was fairly discouraged about our adoption during much of it. Seemed like so long since we had any movement of our files or other good news. I spent lots of time on my knees as the riots took place in Haiti. The country has calmed somewhat although prices of food and gasoline continue at an all time high. It is a very sad situation. Most people literally do not know where their next meal will come from. Please pray.
At our house....
We have had good news this week. Silas' file is in the Minister of Interior office in Haiti - awaiting a Haitian passport. The wait on a passport could be as little as 30 days to as much as 4 months. We are praying for the 30 days. Then all we will need is a US VISA medical appointment and permission to travel and we can go get our son. Even as I write that - it doesn't seem real. I am still hopeful that we will go get Silas and be able to spend several days with Louis this summer. It would be great for Lily to have time at home with her brother before going to Kindergarten in the Fall. Louis' file is ready to enter IBESR(Haitian Social Services office) - hopefully this week. We entered IBESR with Silas' file last June - so realistically we are 1 year behind Silas with Louis' homecoming. I pray for God to show Himself in a miraculous way in the timing as Louis is already a 10 year old boy with several years spent in the orphanage.
ANOTHER BIT OF GOOD NEWS...
Our friends from Fayetteville that have been adopting 2 year old twin boys from the same orphanage that Silas lives in - went to Haiti and brought their boys home 2 weeks ago. It was so fun to welcome them home at the airport. Lily and I visited them at home last week. They are doing fantastic and adjusting very well. One of the boys has gained over 2 pounds since coming home and the other has gained over 4 pounds. Happy boys and so handsome. Makes me miss Silas....and Noel misses him terribly. We can't wait for the day it is our turn.
We have kept busy around here....
Noel took me to a Casting Crowns concert last week - it was fabulous! We have been to several Razorback sporting events lately and now are busy working in our flower gardens and getting a vegetable garden in. I am going to post a picture of our amazing Clematis vine - lily loves to count the blooms every day.
Lily and I are at my twin sisters house with her 3 kiddos while Lisa and Scott have a mini vacation. It is great fun to be with cousins! Looking forward to more of that this summer.
Hope everyone reading has a blessed day.
love to all,
lori
