On August 20, 2002
we decided we would be parents by adoption.
What a great day that was...
I will never forget the joy I felt knowing that I would be a Mommy to a little girl from China. The next day we got the paperwork from our adoption agency and went to work getting ALL the necessary documents for a dossier for international adoption.
When I tucked my great big KINDERGARTNER in tonight after her 3rd day of school I told her about that day. She is super sweet when we talk about the events of her adoption and how God created her to be in our family. She looked at me with those precious dark eyes and just as I was getting teary for the thousandth time this week she said - "Mom when your hair is poofy like that - you look just like aunt Lisa. " My twin sister - Sorry Lis???
Anyway today is special....it also marks the anniversary of our decision 2 years ago to adopt this time. How time flies when you are waiting...??? Or not.
It was either the 19th or 20th when we received our phone call from our dear friends with the news about their friends' desire to give to a family for an adoption. We are still so grateful for this family and their gift. We are sorry we cannot tell them that we have our sons home yet, but trust that we will have that opportunity sometime soon.
We got an update from the organization that facilitates the adoptions for the Orphanage our boys are in today. It was not anything new - no change.
We are praying - Silas will be 3 on October 2. Something needs to happen this week or next for him to be home by his birthday.

I am disappointed I do not have better news to share. I was hoping this day would be special in 3 ways:)
I am thankful - I am blessed. I can wait with the help of my Savior.

kindergarten is big, isn't it?! hope to see pics of lily's big day. emma has been talking about her again, how they are like sisters! and they both have only brothers!

Lori, I was updating my own blog today and thought I'd come read yours as I know our hearts are both grieving as our kids are off to Kindergarten! Isn't it amazing how they can make us laugh and cry all at the same time! Hugs to you my friend - We are praying Silas home by his birthday! Amy
