Louis is 11 today! Yeah! Louis - we are so thankful God created you and set it in our hearts to bring you home! We pray you get to have a birthday celebration at home next year.
No NEWS yet.....
Well, we have had some news, just not the news we want. Silas' adoption has been completed by Haitian law since May! On September 9th - Haiti was completely finished with all paperwork, passport was printed and so now it is in the hands of our own government. The US needs to do their own investigation to ensure that each child is actually an orphan. LONG story short - they would like to interview a birthparent of each child to make sure they understand that their child is adopted and going to the US. Silas' birthmother is no where to be found by the orphanage staff - they have not had contact with her for over a year. I know - doesn't the fact that his birthmother signed over rights and guardianship to the orphanage in May of 2006, or the fact that he has lived most of his life in the O and no birthparent can be found make him an orphan???? I would think so - and even the law I read by the USCIS states that he is - in my estimation. SO....I am not sure why the USCIS does not complete the process so we can obtain a VISA and go get our son! Yes, it is very frustrating, but we are praying for a Godly perspective and trusting again that God can and will overcome this current hurdle in our race. We are waiting for a letter to tell us what to do next week. Apparantly it is coming from the USCIS in Haiti and won't even be sent until the end of next week! I have talked them into sending me an email copy.
So we wait - yet again. Please pray for all this to be resolved soon.
Thank you so much!
Love to all,
lori
for all of us

Thinking of you...and praying for you.
Happy Birthday Sweet Louis!
I will never forget your smiling face last January when we pulled up to Pationville. And you proudly showing us the pictures of your mom and dad! Although we couldn't exchange the same language, the look in your eyes said it all! You are such an amazing boy, Louis! We cannot wait for you to meet your dad and once again spend time with your amazing mom! You will always hold a special place in our hearts Louis! Your family is lucky indeed to have you as their son!

we'll keep praying, sooooo sorry about the delay. hold on to God's promises---i see you are continuing to keep the right persepective. i was thinking of you today and missing you dearly...i was getting some of our china stuff out to take to school for a display. a teacher friend is doing a unit on china and asked to barrow somethings. has it really been 5 years? remember all the anticipation we were feeling at this time in 2003?! i'll never forget...what a precious time.
love and miss you.
Hey Lori! I've been thinking of you a lot lately and I think of you everytime I hear the song "While I'm Waiting." I hope you hear good news soon!
Louis is so handsome!!
Hi Lori-
I'm so sorry to hear of the delay. You've probably already done this. But, I know some people have had some success contacting their U.S. Congregressional Reps and Senators (the Arkansas reps and Senators) about situations like this. Sometimes, their offices and put a fire under other U.S. gvt. offices to speed things up.
Our prayers continue.
