Yeah – A NEW YEAR – prayerfully the year that both of our sons come home.
The only news we have received from Haiti is that the USCIS will wait to make a final adjudication on our case until March 1st. Our orphanage representatives had asked for more time to find the birth mother before they thought she may be deceased - and they were granted until March 1. There are no records of a death certificate and to my knowledge no one is looking for the birth mother.
Silas is an orphan by US law definition and the fact that we cannot find the birthmother confirms that fact and does not negate it. Our lawyer and Congressman Boozman's office have put together a good strategy to have this resolved now instead of months from now. They will be advocating for us and talking to USCIS representatives in DC until someone will listen and approve our immigration of Silas.
Please pray specifically that our information quickly gets to the ears of someone who can make a difference.

Louis is legally ours now by Haitian law – his file has to be approved by the passport office (a few months) then a passport issued, VISA, and home!
Prayerfully we will not encounter this problem with his adoption as the O says they know where his birth mother is residing.

Lori - I am so happy to see an update and to hear about Louis. We will keep praying...I guess God has perfect timeing - but it sure doesn't seem perfect to us! I can't wait to hear the news that your family is going to pick up Silas and bring him home.
