Wow! We are on the edge of our seat waiting to hear what God will bring this week.
So many times, I have let my mind go to that place of how it will feel when the call finally comes - you can go get your son....
Could it be this week? God knows and His timing really is perfect.
A few nights ago, Noel and I spent a lot of time visiting about all God has done, all He has allowed us to learn in this waiting room. Please, don't think I am saying that we have learned so much - there isn't really much else - we've arrived. HA - nothing could be further from the truth. What I am saying is in that learning - He has shown us the complete mess we would be without Him. He has shown me how much I need Him, how much I don't understand about how He works and what He does in our lives that affect so many - its not just about me.
Today we found out that some paperwork we have been waiting on for Louis has been completed. His file should enter MOI (the passport approval office) soon. That Haitian gov't office will go over our files and make a final approval then send the file for passport printing. After we receive his passport - the US immigration will complete the birth parent interview then hopefully, promptly issue his VISA. The Orphanage says they know where his birth mother is residing so that process can go more smoothly then it has for Silas.
We heard last Thursday that the US immigration office was only waiting on the original paperwork to arrive - the death certificate for Silas' birth mother and funeral report - then they will make their decision. Those originals were delivered on Friday by the Orphanage director. It is our hope that all of our (and your) prayers will be answered this week. Trusting God for that.
We are so excited to visit the boys and hopefully bring Silas home. We are packing!!! Noel is having a hard time limiting which kind of balls to take.....football, basketball, soccer ball, baseball and glove...so many sports, so little time :) I remind him he can save something for when Louis comes home - doesn't have to teach every sport this week. It will be like honey to my soul to see Noel with his sons and Lily with her brothers. Our family....let the tears roll.
For now, I am too giddy for that:)
Wonder if I'll sleep....
Keep praying friends!
Love to all,
lori
for all of us
I want to share something I have been thinking about a lot this week. Read if you like...
I write in my Bible all the time...dates, prayers, names, etc...I know a lot of people don't like to do that...I like it because I can go back and look at answers to prayer - see some remarkable things God has done.
Last week, I found something in my Bible next to the end of Romans 4 that I have not seen in a while. Romans 4:18 - 21 - Paul is writing about Abraham. How God promised him that he would be the father of many nations. He was around 100 years old when God promised him that, but the Bible says he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God.
This is what I wrote on 7-25-2006:
Father God,
Against all hope, in HOPE, I believe without weakening faith that according to your perfect will, You will expand our family. Lord, I do believe that you can make me with child or show us a precious child to adopt. I am fully persuaded that you have the power to do this. I anxiously await Your gift Lord! Amen.
This is where it gets good.... August 20, 2006 - is the day our dear friends called us about our "gift" - financial gift for our adoption.
When I revisited this miracle in our life through this last week - I am just amazed. This miracle has yet to come to home - but the whole story is still incredible. Jesus - don't ever let me forget how much you have done for us! And now it is my privilege to stand in your promises. I am FULLY PERSUADED that God has the power to do what He has promised. Romans 4:21
