Dearest Family and Friends:
Our 30 days to respond to the USCIS is up. Our adoption immigration attorney has done an excellent job researching our case and is providing a solid rebuttal to the Notice of Intent to Deny immigration we received from the USCIS. We are excited to see God answer the many prayers for Silas’ home coming. After a month of researching, phone calls, and having this constantly on my mind to contact someone or do something – it is now out of my hands. God reminds me it was never up to me in the first place. He is in control – to that I say AMEN!
Our attorney’s response to the denial is simply based on the fact that Silas is an orphan in every sense of the word.
We are asking once again for prayers during the next several days.
Specifically:
Field Office Director/Adjudicator for the USCIS in Haiti
He will likely be reading our response tomorrow or early next week. Please pray for him to be moved to rescind our denial and immediately grant approval for immigration of Silas.
Our attorney to have favor with the congressional offices she contacts and to be well received when she calls Haiti early next week. For her to have wisdom regarding how to handle our case.
Please pray that the congressional offices that are being contacted will respond promptly to make inquiries.
Please praise God for how He has given us peace in the midst of this. We thank Him for this opportunity and pray that our case may affect others in a positive way for the future of Haitian adoptions. Noel and I often talk about how we can’t believe we “get” to do this – bringing Silas and Louis into our family.
Please pray that a decision in favor of immigration for Silas and a quick VISA will be granted immediately – even before CHRISTMAS! Hey – not too BIG for GOD!
We love you all and SO APPRECIATE ALL the prayers you have offered on our behalf. THANK YOU!!!
We will post an update when we get any news.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUJU - my baby sister:)
Running our Race and Believing God,
Lori
For all of us at home and in Haiti
Noel, Lily, Silas, and Louis
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews12:1-3
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
James 1:2-5

Lori,
Your sweet simple faith is such an inspiration. I am praying not only to bring Silas home, but that the Lord continue to cover Silas with love and comfort. Praying for Silas to have the understanding that love is on the way.
Hugs gal.
I will try to catch you tomorrow so we can pray together.
Elicia

We ar continuing to lift you up before the throne of grace. The God we serve is Lord of all even Haitian adoptions. He is being a loving parent for Silas and Louis until you can hold them in your arms. What a wonderful Christmas present this will make!
